Welcome to Toledo Oregon
Surrounded by wooded hills, Toledo is home to approximately 3600 people and is just seven miles inland from the central Oregon coast on a bend of the Yaquina River. The historic town descends over hillsides to the river. Toledo is one of the few cities in Oregon that has a true downtown on a city street, not on a throughway or highway. Toledo's Main Street retains its historical flavor, with the waterfront and fishing vessels visible moored at the end of Main. When the wind starts to blow or the fog smothers the beach, Toledo often stays warm and sunny due to our short distance from the coast. Thus, Toledo enjoys summer temperatures 10 to 15 degrees warmer than those in Newport. Antiques, art galleries, gift shops selling the work of local crafters, a glass art studio, and a unique collection of independent businesses & restaurants make Toledo an interesting place to visit. Several world-class artists make their homes here, taking inspiration from the small-town atmosphere and beautiful river, estuary, and rural vistas.
